    Re: Harlem Voters

If Raider quit posting you guys would just start arguing over whose [richard] is bigger.

Harlem? Glad they picked the most educated people in the country to do that to.

True story, had a guy do the same thing. Said he was a republican, voted republican because his family does, and its what he has always believed in. Most of his beliefs and whatnot were actually liberal beliefs. This was a fairly intelligent guy also.

Lots of people that voted shouldn't, because they aren't educated enough about the issues/candidates.

A good number of those people are christians who only care about gays/guns/abortion.

Queers are still gonna screw. Deal with it.
Your gonna get to keep your guns and your subscription to guns and ammo won't stop coming in the mail. I know, thats awesome that you don't have to go back and try to pry the sticky pages of the old ones open.
    Roe v. Wade. Enough said.

Since race is being talked about alot...I think it speaks volumes upon volumes about McCain that he is gonna lose to a black man. There, I said it.

    Also...something that really bothers me.

If your wife husband is in icu or something in the hospital, you get to go see her.

If your gay and your partner is dying, you don't because you aren't "family". I think that is messed up. But vote republican, if not you'll go to hell because gay people might get basic rights like visiting their partner in the hospital.

    politics and religion shouldn't mix.

if your going to do so, and carry you bible to vote then why didn't you support al sharpton? how come nobody ever tried to get billy graham to run for president? or better yet your fellow gay basher jerry falwell?

Exactly. A lot of the times morality blinds rationality.

    Re: Harlem Voters

That was before the JFK/LBJ civil rights era. Most blacks at that time were Rep. (mainly in the south) it was seen as the party that freed the slaves, because of Lincoln of course. Then they saw Kennedy and LBJ as proponents to the civil rights and they loved Bill. lol

Had a professor that based a whole political science class on how the parties switched.
